|Vietnam War: The Final Chapter- OFFSITE|
Event Type: Adult Programs|
Start Time: 6:30 PM
End Time: 8:00 PM
In 1969, Richard Nixon took the Presidency and the war from LBJ promising "an honorable end" to American involvement in Vietnam. Peace with honor would prove elusive as the war spread at the same time US troops were being withdrawn. The peace talks in Paris proved frustrating. Protests grew and turned tragic. Hopes were pinned on Vietnamization and warming relations with China. Even as military involvement ended, the US was unable to completely leave Vietnam behind. Join us for the conversation as we continue our look at the Vietnam War's fiftieth anniversary.
Presented by Tom Henry. This program will be held at Parkrose Estates at 7251 Janus Park Drive, Liverpool.
