Cheetah...Cheetah, What Do You See?

Event Type: Adult Programs
Date: 5/23/2013
Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Time: 8:30 PM
Description:
Cheetahs...the fastest animal on Earth have been with us for over 4
million years. This sleek, slender, built for speed, ambush predator
numbered more than 100,000 around 1900 but today its population is
estimated at between 9,000 to 12,000. What factors have lead to such a
decline - placing the cheetah on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) threatened species list? Join Liverpool High School teacher Andrew Calderwood as he discusses his experience with the Cheetah Conservation Fund of Namibia and explains what learning about the Cheetah can teach us about ourselves!
